The Pilgrimage: Mount Kailash Kora
Circling (2-3 days)

Mount Kailash is one of the world's most renowned pilgrimages, revered by Buddhists, Hindus, Jains, and Bonpos. The 52-kilometer (32-mile) kora (circumambulation) is not an easy trek.

The trail passes through a dramatic landscape of prayer flags, cliffs, and the sacred Drolma La Pass at 5,636m. This 3 day trek is included in our 15 days mount Kailash tour.

During this tour, you will also have the chance to see many other notable highlights of Tibet, such as Lake Manasarovar.

Highlights: 
Vast spiritual atmosphere, diverse landscapes, the Drolma La Pass, andthe serene beauty of Lake Manasarovar.

Difficulty: 
Challenging. The high altitude and the pass crossing are demanding, but the pace is manageable for determined trekkers.

Mount Everest North Face Advanced Trek

For those who have already seen Base Camp and crave a closer, more raw encounter with Everest, this trek is the answer. It pushes further into the remote valleys and higher altitudes of the Everest region. This route is less traveled and offers unparalleled, close-up views of the mountain's formidable North Face and the treacherous Northeast Ridge, the route of the first successful ascent.

Highlights: 
Extreme close-up views of Everest's North Face, advanced high-altitude trekking, ultimate solitude and wilderness.

Difficulty: 
Strenuous. Requires excellent physical fitness, prior high-altitude experience, and proper acclimatization.

Cultural and Historical Hikes

Yamdrok Lake Hike

A day hike around the stunning Yamdrok Tso is a perfect way to experience Tibet's natural beauty without a multi-day commitment. This turquoise, coral-shaped lake is one of Tibet's four most sacred lakes. The easy trail along its shores offers breathtaking panoramic views, with opportunities to meet local nomads, see grazing yaks, and visit small villages.
This hike is included in the "Lhassa to Yamdrock" 5-day tour but may also be included in any custom tour.

Highlights: 
Sacred blue water of the lake, photography opportunities, and interactions with local Tibetans.

Difficulty: 
Easy. Good for acclimatization and families.

Samye Monastery & The Valley Trek

This trek takes you to the historic Samye Monastery, the first Buddhist monastery established in Tibet. The journey often involves a ferry crossing of the Yarlung Tsangpo River (also known as the Brahmaputra).
The trek itself can include hiking through the nearby valleys or up to the Hepori Hill for a bird's-eye view of the monastery's unique mandala design, a symbolic representation of the Buddhist universe.

Technical Treks for advanced Trekers

Kath Valley advanced trek (8 days)

This demanding, high-altitude expedition takes you deep into a remote corner of Tibet, far from the usually beaten path. Test your limits amidst breathtaking landscapes of stark valleys, sacred lakes, and snow-capped peaks. This is a real adventure, reserved for those with both strong legs and strong spirit.

  • Trekking deep into the remote and restricted Kath Valley.
  • Camping beside stunning, high-altitude turquoise lakes.
  • Witnessing unclimbed, towering peaks of the Nyenchen Tanglha range.

Difficulty: Challenging / Advanced.
Requires excellent physical fitness, prior high-altitude trekking experience, and a spirit of adventure. Yak are recommanded for carrying goods, there will be no road access.
