Fantastic! Unforgettable! Done miss this opportunity!!! We loved our experience in Lhasa, especially because of our tour guide and his staff. They are the dearest people, and the most attentive, caring, insightful guides one could ever hope for. We were there in 2019, June, and loved every minute of our visit with them. They are no longer "our tour guide", but they are now our "dear friends" who we value so very highly. My suggestion, please do not hesitate! Book a tour with this group ASAP. I love these people and the experience they gave to my wife and I. We are now in America, and it is unlikely we will ever return again. We are so grateful we did not miss this experience.

Stellar Customer Service I am heartbroken that I am not able to take the trip to Tibet that I have spent months planning with Songtsan Travel due to the coronavirus outbreak in China. I have been looking forward to this trip for a very long time. I am disabled and in a wheelchair. Traveling is very difficult for me. I spent months working with Songtsan to plan a 2 night trip to Tibet including flights from Chengdu that would work for me and my travel companion. I have a lot of particulares that I need accommodated on my trips and Songtsan accommodated my every need. I was looking forward to meeting them and spending time with them in person in their country. Hopefully, I will be able to do that someday. Songtsan is very accommodating, responsive and caring. If I am able to finally travel to Tibet, I will definitely plan my trip with them again. I very much hope to do that someday. Thank you, Songtsan.

15-day Kailash Overland This was truly the trip of a lifetime! It is hard to choose highlights, but I'll never forget living some of my all-time most bucket-list experiences. Among them: -The Kailash trek--the most extraordinary trek I've ever done. Hard to know which was more memorable, the stark and forbidding scenery or the cultural experience of being on the Kora with Tibetan pilgrims and fellow travelers. -The landscapes and scenery overall were jaw-dropping. -The monks we interacted with. Actually, everyone we interacted with. The people we met, pre-arranged and not, were incredibly friendly, welcoming, funny, and down-to-earth. Seeing the monks debate at Sera Monastery was, unexpectedly, one of my favorite things on the trip. We befriended several monks using only facial expressions and body language and had the time of our lives. -Art. I loved all the art we saw, but my favorites were the sand mandalas. Make sure to ask to see these whenever you can, they're extraordinary. -Everyone at Songstan Travel was incredibly warm, welcoming, and accommodating. They made sure we had a fabulous trip; another highlight was eating dinner at the home of the owner. It was delicious and so lovely to be treated as very welcome family guests. Another thing--it is so, so important to use a company owned and operated by Tibetan people for a trip to Tibet. Having local tour guides with local expertise makes all the difference in the world; one of our guides introduced us to (and served as translator for) a monk at a monastery we visited, and he could do that because he grew up in the same small town as that monk. You can show your appreciation for Tibetan culture and history by hiring Tibetan people, like those that work at Songstan. And, buy local! I highly recommend Dropenling in Lhasa. Pack warm clothes, including for sleeping! I did get cold, but then, we visited Kailash and Everest at the end of the tourist season (in late November). Earlier in the year might be warmer.

Impromptu Weekend Trip to Lhasa While on a business trip in Chengdu (Sichuan) we took the opportunity to visit Lhasa for one weekend. And it was definitely worth it. Thanks to Songtsan Travel they made our short trip possible. A special thanks to Yonten, who pulled off a miracle, by processing our permits in record-time. Our guide Nima and driver Kalsang were great and adapted the itenerary to our wishes. Our visit included visits to Drepung & Sera monasteries, Jokhang temple, Potala Palace and, for us the highlight, a trip to Yamdrok lake over the Kampala Pass. Our trip finished on Sunday evening with a homecooked dinner (which was the best that we ate all weekend) with the Songstan Travel family before catching the first flight back to Chengdu early Monday morning, and straight into the office... We would definitely recommend Songstan Travel for your upcoming trip to Tibet.

Private 8 day EBC tour - A moving lesson for life! Tashi Delek! My best decision in life until now was to marry my wife, concerning travel the best decision was going to Tibet and to book with Songtsan. It is very hard to rate this company, we even see it more as a family and we felt to be part of it. From the booking process until the last day everything was professional and everything was as promised. I was in contact with Tenzin Yonten, the sales agent - very nice and caring person, always helpful, responding fast. They are dealing well with organizing all the needed permits and we got them well in advance (got sent to the hotel in Xi’an as we needed the original permit for boarding the plane). When we got picked up by our guide (T.D.) and our driver (Tenzin) at Lhasa airport we already knew that the next days would get something really special. T.D. was very knowledgeable and very nice and our driver was simply amazing, honestly we have never seen a better driver than him. The first day we took a good rest as we wanted to acclimatize and we did a lot of research concerning AMS, so we did not want to risk anything. Nevertheless, I got hit by mountain sickness at the evening while eating dinner, but after sleeping well I felt good again the next morning. This morning was the start of our tour and the following days we saw many monasteries and temples, Yamdrok lake and went to Mount Everest. Every single day was so special, it is hard to explain, but I will try it anyway … the reason why Tibet is such a spiritual and special place is not only the breathtaking sights. Sure, if you are seeing Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple the first time, strolling clockwise around at Barkhor or standing right in front of majestic Mount Everest. Not only these places are bringing more humility to your soul, also the people living there will make you rethink everything you thought you know about life. It seems kind of strange but the Tibetans are looking at you, giving you a big smile from the bottom of their heart - you are feeling that it really goes through to your own heart. This was not just once a day, it was simply everywhere and any time, it was sometimes hard to concentrate on all the interesting stories our guide was telling us, when people were stopping beside us, staring at us and giving us a smile again. We learnt a lot about Tibet and their people, but also about Buddhism, our guide explained every detail in every monastery/temple and some of the explanations were inspiring and valuable. On the second day we got invited for homemade dinner in the Tibetan house of the boss of Songtsan as they knew it was my wife’s birthday. They cooked us a great dinner and surprised us with a birthday cake for my wife. It was a very special evening as even during this time we were treated like family members, it was like if we knew each other since years. We left one week ago and we are still thankful that we were privileged to see this wonderful place in the world. Thank you, Tibet and Thank you, Songtsan!

Two-week private tour I was very happy with my experience traveling with Songtsan Travels. They were able to completely customize an itinerary to my particular interests and needs. The staff and guides were all very knowledgable and personable. Pre-trip communication was excellent. All accommodations were extremely comfortable. Great company and amazing destination.

Prayer Wheels and People Watching Our time in Lhasa was cut short due to a flight cancellation. Songstan ensured we were taken care of, with necessary changes made. Our highlights included excursions to as many of the monasteries close to Lhasa as possible. Potala Palace is a must see for everyone. The massive holy structure is awe inspiring, and has stood the test of time. This palace reminds one that each individual should feel free to express their gratitude and prayers in their own manner. Nearby Barkhor Square, provides never-ending delight for people watching. I was struck by the sheer number of people proudly practicing their faith. Although we had the best guide and driver during our short stay, there was plenty of walking exercise daily. Be sure to bring a sturdy pair of shoes for these adventures, as the inclines and stairs inside the monasteries will test your endurance. One of the highlights besides the obvious sights, was our dinner with the staff of Songstan Travel on the last evening of our visit. We were treated like royalty, as each member took care of our every need. We were able to taste some home made dishes in the beautiful home of our host. These people are so caring, and truly interested in your welfare. It was an honour to have been invited as a guest into a family sanctuary. You simply cannot do any better than to trust Songstan Travel with your every travel need while in Tibet.

Awesome time in Lhasa with Songtsan - 3 days tour I really can’t say enough about Songtsan and their first class service! I would highly recommend Songtsan Travel for Tibet! I had emailed a few different tour agencies and chose Songtsan based on their prompt and well thought out tour plans and pricing. And, what a great choice! They handled everything for us including getting us visas delivered when we were in Kathmandu and everything was extremely well organized. We spent 3 days touring Lhasa and loved every minute of it. Every segment of our tour was perfect; the drivers were all great, tour guide very knowledgeable and accommodating. We were honored to spend our last night at the owner’s home where a great feast was laid out for us! I have also done a lot of private tours during my travels and can confidently say that Songtsan is high up on my list! I highly, highly recommend them! Keep up the great work!
